I wrote a very long blog post that is going up next Monday (or maybe earlier). It talks a lot about all the problems with Valentine's Day, and my confused feelings about it as a queer-identified person with a straight marriage behind me, and my very confused feelings about it owning a boutique that caters to people that most Valentine's Day commercials leave out.
It's important to talk about all of that.
Some of you may have major issues with Valentine's Day. I respect that 100%. But today, I want to share, and re-share, some photos we took last fall as part of our entirely LGBTQIA+ photo shoot for Bluestockings. (Some of these have never been posted.) I particularly want to share photos of Erica and Alexis, a real-life couple who have the kind of relationship you don't often see represented this time of year.
These images celebrate queer, trans, nonbinary, and genderqueer folks just living their lives, having fun, and - most importantly - loving the fuck out of each other.
#LoveLooksLike this: friendship. Partners. Family.
